KBZ Bank joined RecyGlo Myanmar’s ‘Thrift Fashion Truck’ initiative that not only transformed wardrobes but also significantly contributed to our environmental and community objectives. Beyond benefiting the underprivileged communities, the program operated on a “Give Two, Take One” model, providing environmentally-conscious fashion enthusiasts and thrift fashionistas, the chance to donate two gently used clothes and, in return, they have the option to exchange with one item from the donated clothes, fostering a sustainable and circular fashion ecosystem.

Spanning from October 28 to November 18, 2023, we received 1500 pieces of clothing from our KBZ Bank employees alone and a total of 1575 pieces throughout the program resulting in a reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by 5582.16 kg. This is equivalent to the annual carbon absorption of 265 mature trees or the annual emissions of an average passenger car driving around 25,000 miles.
This initiative also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Climate Action (SDG 13), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8).
